The IDF Widows and Orphans Organization Celebrated the Bar/Bat Mitzva
"Up until two years ago, I thought of a Bar-Mitzva as a father and son event. I remember that you said that after my ceremony of reading from the Torah at the synagogue, you will take a long vacation and together we will travel along the entire 'Israel Route'. Nowadays, when people ask me where you work, I am proud to say that you died for our country"
Saluting the Inductees
On the morning of Wednesday, June 4th, we gathered at the Harel lookout point to salute our orphans who were being inducted to serve in the Israel Defense Forces or perform National Service. Attendance was full: members of the governing council, organization volunteers, male and female soldiers from the Education Corps who came to offer encouragement and of course our children the inductees, accompanied by their mothers (and also one father) and friends.
