The families of Israel’s fallen heroes paid the highest price. HELP REBUILD THEIR LIVES
OUR WORK IS JUST BEGINNING
Following the funeral, the eulogies, the gun salute, and the shiva are the lives of those left behind. When someone is abruptly taken from us, it is not just a single life that ends. Instead, an entire universe of potential shatters – dreams dissolve, futures evaporate, and what remains is a landscape of acute pain and bewildering loss.
Since the atrocities committed on October 7, 2023, and the Swords of Iron War that followed, the number of new families requiring our support has surged in a dramatically unprecedented way. Among them have been close to 40 pregnant widows facing the unimaginable reality of bringing new life into the world while grieving the loss of their partners.
In response, the IDF Widows & Orphans Organization (IDFWO) launched Letzidech, a specialized initiative providing these women with critical support before and after childbirth. As part of our unwavering commitment to stand by the families from birth and throughout their lives, Letzidech has now expanded to include night nurse care and much more for the close to 100 widows left with orphaned babies at home.
Just as soldiers have selflessly sacrificed their lives for our safety and freedom, it is our absolute collective responsibility to support the widows and orphans they leave behind. Our work is just beginning.
