Since the Hamas attacks on October 7th and the ongoing Swords of Iron War, the need to support the growing number of families in our fold has never been more urgent. Just as our soldiers have selflessly sacrificed their lives for our safety and freedom, it is our absolute collective responsibility to support the widows and orphans they leave behind.

OTZMA
Program

IDFWO’s flagship program, Otzma, provides ongoing and holistic support in a communal setting, centered around four camps for orphans aged 6-18 years old. Through therapeutic and recreational activities, outdoor and team development, creative and expressive workshops, and guided therapy discussions, Otzma provides a safe, empathetic, and truly fun environment where participants build community amongst their peers who share similar experiences.

Talah – Personal
Enrichment Program

Talah empowers orphans aged 6-18 to cultivate their unique talents and realize their biggest dreams through tailor-made programs that provide curated training, mentoring, tools, and resources in their specific area of interest. This personal support program nurtures the potential of each child in our care and helps them thrive in the area they are most passionate about, increasing their confidence and sense of identity.

Letzidech Program
for Pregnant Widows

The Letzidech initiative provides comprehensive emotional and practical support for pregnant war widows, extending from pregnancy to post-natal care. Some of the offerings include two personal midwives for each member, medical assistance for mother and baby such as home nurse visits and coordination between the hospital and the family, financial assistance and stipends for brit mila and simchat bat events and home care, as well as support group events and community building.

Deep Blue
Healing Program

The Deep Blue Healing Program is a five-day (one-star) scuba diving course to empower young-adult orphans through a therapeutic diving experience in Eilat. Through the course, participants navigate the complexities of their grief and loss by enhancing personal resilience while connecting with the ocean. The shared diving experience fosters strong bonds and a supportive network that extends well beyond the program.

The IDFWO is on a mission to provide comprehensive emotional, social, and financial support 365 days a year for the families of Israel’s fallen heroes, helping them navigate their journey of recovery and resilience and ensure their futures are full of dignity and success

As we find ourselves in this crisis, IDFWO invites you to join our circle of friends to provide the necessary care for these widows and orphans every step of the way, every day of the year, for the rest of their lives.
