The IDFWO (Charity No. 580202166) Organization is a non-profit organization that was established in 1991 as the sole organization, recognized by the State of Israel, to represent the widows, widowers and orphans of Israel’s fallen soldiers.
Today we work with over 8,000 men, women and children who lost their loved ones in the IDF and security forces making the ultimate sacrifice for the State of Israel. Although it is impossible to fill the void of a lost spouse or parent, IDFWO works tirelessly to be a helping hand of warmth and love, to provide that backbone of support that a parent or spouse generally provides to his family.
We are not a faith based charity - we provide all our members emotional, financial and social welfare programs and aid throughout the calendar year and though every milestone of their lives.
We are a fully democratic organization. Every four years the 50 members of our general assembly, the seven members for the Board of Directors, and the Chairperson are elected - all of which are volunteer widows, widowers or adult orphans. We have branches located throughout the country in order to address the needs of members in their areas, and each branch has its own Board of Directors including a representative from the IDFWO head office.
IDFWOCA is a sister non-profit organization registered in Canada (Charity No. 8549079) working directly with IDFWO on behalf of the widows & orphans of Israel’s fallen soldiers. IDFWO Canada is committed to providing grief support, financial aid and various welfare programs, with particular focus on religious life cycle events and social activities of IDF orphans.
We can only run these life changing programs for our widows and orphans with your generous help. We promise that you can support us knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to benefit the widows and orphans programs.
