Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day, was marked with a meeting hosted by the President of the State of Israelstate president, attended by six families. Each family had the opportunity to tell their story and to share how they cope with their loss that is forever present and constantly felt. During the meeting, Dana Sachyani, widow of the late Erez Sachyani, and her daughter, Tamar, read out a letter that Erez had written to the Ppresident’s father, the late Chaim Herzog, as a young student in elementary school. In the letter, Erez asks for peace. So it should be. Amen.
