The IDFWO’s Booklet of Longing is, as its name implies, a compilation of poems, stories, and reflections that convey longing for a husband or father, a wife or mother, who left on a mission and never returned. The first publication of the booklet was in 2008, and each year since then, with the approach of Memorial Day, we publish a further edition that conveys expressions of endless, unrelenting longing, experienced and written by widows and orphans of the IDF and security forces.
The Booklet of Longing comprises a diverse range of reflections, emotions, and perceptions of being - a plethora of longings that form the delicate, complex, and unique mosaic of our lives.
